In my experimental learning classes, I strive to build a sense of community and accessibility. I enjoy connecting with and supporting students as they pursue new challenges. I am currently teaching two courses - AME Laboratory 2 and Design Tools 2. Lab 2 involves student exploration of experimental methods in solid and fluid mechanics, heat transfer, acoustics, and mechatronic systems. Design Tools 2 is a studio-based course where students build upon their knowledge of the design process, in tandem with CAM and hand-fabrication, to solve engineering problems.
  • Sandia National Laboratories
    Geomechanics R&D Intern
Sandia National Laboratories Jun 2020 - Jul 2022
At Sandia, I work on computational modeling of porous media. My main project involves evaluating iterative coupling schemes for poromechanics problems - starting with verification using benchmark problems and building towards experimental validation.
  • Georgia Institute Of Technology
    Nsf Grfp Fellow
Georgia Institute Of Technology Aug 2017 - Jul 2022
    Atlanta, Ga
My thesis research focuses on the behavior of steel structures subjected to impulsive loading. Specifically, I employ experimental and computational techniques to study the fracture and residual capacity characteristics of steel bolts. My non-thesis project involves experimentation and modeling of a variety of materials, such as foam, water, and sand, in pursuit of force-protection solutions for an industry project.
  • Georgia Institute Of Technology
    Instructor Of Record
Georgia Institute Of Technology Aug 2021 - Dec 2021
Instructor of Record for CEE 3051, Introduction to Structural Engineering class. Organized and led class on site visits, including first construction site visit. Used formative assessment throughout lectures to assess fluency with material and regularly gathered student feedback. Created lectures, active learning activities, homework assignments, and summative assignments. With grader, implemented assessment strategies to reflect both growth and proficiency.
  • École Polytechnique
    Visiting Researcher
    École Polytechnique Jul 2019 - Sep 2019
    Paris Area, France
At Ecole Polytechnique, I performed Split Hopkinson Bar tests on A325 structural bolt samples to identify the sensitivity of strain hardening to strain rate. While there, I learned techniques for specimen sizing and processing of Hopkinson Bar data. This research was done via the Gateways to France program at Georgia Tech, funded by the National Science Foundation.
