It all started with a kick of a soccer ball.Sports has been a part of my life ever since I was seven years old, and I’ve grown to love volleyball, basketball, ice hockey, skateboarding, badminton and ultimate frisbee.Participating in sports has taught me many valuable skills such as communication and cooperation, and has helped me grow as a person. It also taught me respect and resilience, skills that I use often in my life.I make it my mission to give back to the community that gave me so much growing up, to educate youth on the importance of living active lives and to encourage the participation of sport among communities. For me, this involves volunteering in local community programs and getting involved in youth sport programs.Sport has made me realize the importance of equality. I was fortunate enough to participate in a variety of sports through programs and camps but not many get the opportunity to do so, which is why I passionately believe that every youth should be given a sporting chance.This passion is what led me to pursue a career in sports. I recently finished my studies at Humber College for Sport Management. Through those three years, I have gained valuable knowledge of the sporting industry from a business perspective as well as what it takes to succeed not only as a worker in sport but as a person as well. Utilizing my strengths and recognizing my ability to adapt to new situations are a few of the things I have learned about myself through my studies.My experience in programs and camps has allowed me to use my skills in action. Whether it was organizing activities, creating visual presentations or designing action plans, I take great pride in seeing a task come to completion while also using it as a learning experience to help improve my skills and learn from my mistakes.I strive to help create connections and strengthen communities through sport and to teach youth valuable life skills along the way while also paving the way for the next generation of leaders in the sporting industry.When I am not busy with school, I can be found reading a book, drawing digitally or even playing around on Final Cut Pro editing some video clips together for fun, learning new techniques every time.
