I started work for SRLV as a semi- senior working for two partners back in 2004 . I worked on a mixture of accounts and audit clients. At the time it was a 7 partner firm. The firm has now grown and has 15 partners and is in the top 50 accountancy firms in the U.K. As the firm has grown and my career has progressed my role has become more specialised. I now work very closely with one partner and I am personally responsible for a fee portfolio of £700k. Over time my role is becoming more and more of a business advisory nature. This includes forecasting, providing business plans and projections for clients seeking finance, structuring to secure EIS relief or the lowest tax cost in the event of a sale. Assisting clients in negotiating the best deal in the event of a sale of their business, assisting new companies with their accounting systems or compliance and advising on new legislation. I am increasingly meeting clients who wish to set up operations in several countries and have gained The Advanced Diploma in International Taxation to help me to give them the very best advice. I am extremely passionate about what I do and I am proud to say that my clients not only trust and seek my advice but I also consider a number of them to be my friends.

I started work at Bower Orford, a four partner practice, shortly after qualifying for AAT. I started as an accounts junior but quickly progressed to supporting one of the partners and working under his direct supervision. Whilst at this firm I continued to prepare financial statements and company tax returns. I was also involved on several audit jobs and was responsible for both the file completion and review. I had direct contact with clients and started to enjoy having a general business advisory role in addition to compliance work. I passed my ACCA exams in 18 months and qualified at 22 years old. The partner I worked for left the firm and the company started to downsize so I moved to another London firm which was growing steadily and had more potential, SRLV.

After leaving school with 9 good GCSE's and 4 A levels I started work for a local firm whilst studying for my AAT exams. I gained a lot of experience during this time and was exposed to Bookkeeping, payroll, personal tax, corporation tax and the preparation of small corporate and non-corporate financial statements. I passed my AAT exams and moved to a London firm to study for ACCA and work with larger clients.
