I am currently enjoying my new role as Supply Teacher, gaining experience in different schools.

Teacher and Special Educational Needs Coordinator (2005-2022)Assistant Head (2016-2020)Deputy Head Teacher (2020-2021): Brixham C of E Primary School Here, I particularly loved teaching many cohorts of children in an interesting and engaging way to ensure their ongoing love of learning. I especially valued building strong relationships with the children I taught, as well as those I worked with within my role as SENCo. I enjoyed understanding them as individuals and learners, whilst helping them to develop academically, socially and emotionally, therefore leading them to thrive in all areas.Over the years, within my many roles, I have also enjoyed working with and supporting the children and their families in other ways. This has included supporting with behavioural, social and/or emotional issues at home and/or school, as well as with giving advice and guidance for families. During the pandemic when the school was locked down, I enjoyed providing ongoing support to the children and their families through a really difficult time. I provided individual learning for pupils, advice and guidance for parents and carers, as well as regular conversations and other support for children and families at risk. I received positive comments from many parents about how much I had helped them and their children during a difficult period in their life. A few likened our conversations to ‘counselling’.

Teacher (2004-2005): Eden Park Primary School In my first year of teaching, I enjoyed developing relationships with the children. I loved finding creative ways to engage them in learning and to support them as a class and as individuals. Due to some of the children having behavioural, social and emotional needs linked to their Special Educational Needs, I researched ways to support them and this sparked an interest in behaviour and classroom management, which continues to this day. As a result, I was able to develop and maintain a positive and engaging environment in which all learners achieved well as their individual needs were met and understood.
