Working to a defined project plan, completed the closure of Liverpool & Crewe Mail Centres where was responsible for ensuring preference exercises were carried out and that the resulting data was accurate and reported back to the project team effectively, for approximately 800 employees prior to the Mail Centre closing. Also included providing ongoing advice to affected employees throughout a 12 month period & assisting with the resulting outplacement service. Additionally, this involved providing in depth knowledge regarding the policy in place for redeployment (MTSF) & providing in depth, ongoing training for colleagues as well as producing fact sheets and training material to assist both colleagues and mail centre staff. Building & maintaining strong relationships with CWU representatives, mail centre management, project teams & regional HR managers was crucial to the success of the closure programme. The role also involved dealing with suppliers such as Reed & Job Centre Plus in order to facilitate the movement of staff, either to the new mail centre which for the North West was Warrington, to jobs in the local area or through the voluntary redundancy process. The role involved spending weeks away from home and significant travel from the base office of Pond Street in Sheffield to Crewe & Liverpool Mail Centres as well as a large amount of nights away & the regular working of unsociable hours. In the latter end of the project, was instrumental in the opening of a centre in Warrington to enable the quick closure of all 3 Mail Centres in the North West. Once this was complete, was heavily involved in producing VR quotes for the Next Steps programme as well as the beginning of the deployment of Clear Choice in London. Show less -
