My interest in technology started at a young age. So early that after learning to read and write it didn't take long for me to take up programming. When internet was up and coming Linux and Web Development quickly peaked my interests, in which I later started my professional career.During my professional career I developed interests in business processes (mainly focused on complex access control structures and advanced workflow authorizations), auditing and compliance, information security and IT infrastructure. Combined with a personal interest in finance makes Fintech the industry where all these come together. I've focused on these interests by working on both the development side and management side of projects and following education that cover these areas such as development of a role based access control system, development of an advanced workflow authorization system, developing integrations between financial systems on an accounting level, doing a post-master in IT-Auditing & Advisory (the 2 year education requirement for RE, the Dutch version of CISA), managing the company's infrastructure in the cloud with AWS and being actively involved with the company's ISAE 3402 audit and ISO 27001 certification.When presented with a project, task, problem or solution to implement I always make it a priority to take a helicopter view and understand the problem and the desired outcome from the client's perspective both in how it affects business processes and what that means in actual practice for the end-user. It is easy to focus mainly on the information at hand however that often leads to fighting symptoms instead of solving the root cause of a problem, or it leads to delivering a solution that does not meet the client's expectations and/or needs. By looking at the bigger picture and probing below the surface I strive to deliver efficient solutions that work not just in theory but also in practice and meet and exceed the client's expectations.
