Founder of Marilyn's Cafe Society, began work in radio and media in 1990 as radio announcer/dj at WWHN 1510AM, a Chicago suburban radio station. A year later she joined AM1340 WJOL radio and simultaneously, handled publicity for the Ms. National Senior Citizens Pageant whose headquarters at the time was in the Chicago area. From 1996 to 2004, she worked as an independent contractor in Public Relations/Special Events Marketing with events like the Chicago Music Awards, The International Festival of Life, and more. This work afforded her the opportunity to work the leading media professionals; as well as popular entertainers, musicians, and personalities. In 2005, she returned to WJOL radio to host and produce her own show. In May of 2008, Marilyn launched her very first website, www.marilynscafesociety.com. which shutdown in early 2012 and a temporary website, www.iammarilyn.com was launched in April 2012. April 2015, marked the 10th year anniversary of the show and relaunch of marilynscafesociety.com. The show has been off the radio since January 2018.
