My career started with the work in the "big bank", went through the traditional equities market, walked (and still walks) the challenging path of entrepreneurship and now, all this background allows me to work with technology, in the backyard of home. Here in Floripa, my hometown, this technology ecosystem has been boiling for many years. ACATE, my professional address, is the Associação Catarinense de Tecnologia and since 1986 fosters this environment connecting entrepreneurs, accelerators, state and federal governments and global initiatives.Venture Capital. If you search on Google for the term, one of the first answers that come up is: venture capital or illiquid risk capital. For me, particularly, Venture Capital means a brave new world. It is fascinating to realize the endless possibilities that are within our power, when we evaluate opportunities outside the traditional investment market.Through Venture Capital, individuals, funds, corporations, family offices, become partners in a pool of businesses that, in its essence, present a solution to a problem in the market where they operate.This breaks down barriers, builds a new way of doing the same thing more efficiently. In this way, the magic of technology enchants, aggregates and makes sure all parties involved get their share of the pizza.The brave new world of Venture Capital is still not widespread here in Brazil, but there are many opportunities on the table. We need to disseminate these structures and demystify the subject around the stereotype that only big investors, with lots of money, can participate in this kind of investment.Today, as a Venture Capital professional, I help investors to understand this market, directing capital and expertise to inspire and invest in talented people who act to build the future. Additionally, I actively contribute to the consolidation of an ecosystem that forms the entrepreneurial spirit and transforms technology into a source for the development of our country.
