Developed POW's Theory of Change, Policy & Gov't Relations Strategy. Set policy priorities. Briefed and trained partner brand CEO's and C- Suite on legislative agendas and messaging. Spokesperson for events and media. Oversaw legislative text development, advocacy campaigns, business development, programs and marketing. Grew organizational budget from $900K in 2022 to $5.5M and revenue to $6.5M in 2022 and from 5 to 31 staff. Expanded POW's markets from exclusively snow sports to climb, trail, and bike.

As International Director, Mario is responsible for strategic guidance and support of Climate Reality's branch offices in Australia, Canada, Europe, Indonesia, Mexico, Brazil, Philippines, and South Africa. His current work focuses on the role private sector, civil society, and government collaboration can play towards effective implementation of NDC (Nationally Determined Contributions) through domestic policy and investment in renewable energy.

Mario spearheads former US Vice President and Climate Reality Chairman Al Gore's domestic and international policy, science, advocacy, and communications trainings and engagement programs for a network of 9,000+ global advocates in key target sectors. Before joining Climate Reality, Mario was responsible for the design, operation and management of the Alliance for Climate Education, working in 27+ cities across the US in the development of climate science curricula and energy efficiency projects. Prior to his work in the US he developed several sustainability and conservation programs in Australia, Ecuador, Costa Rica, the Dominican Republic, and Peru.

Led field operations, programs, support systems, scale and partnership strategies for a nationwide climate literacy initiative reaching 1.5 million high schools students nationwide.

Conservation, Sustainability, Risk Management. Engaged local landowners, non-profits, and community leaders in conservation, education, carbon reduction, and sustainability initiatives designed to meet mid- and long- term land-use and income goals leveraging an initial volunteer time and donation investment.

Restructured programs and operations model, partnership structure, and budgeting to increase program capacity. Successfully added projects in the areas of refugee health, environmental education, sustainable tourism, and organic farming while reducing operating costs by 25% through strategic partnerships.

Project managed and coordinated logistics for 23 conservation project teams throughout the Australian continent.

401 Wetland MitigationProvided functional assessments, reports, and recommendations to multiple stakeholders including the North Carolina Division of Water Quality (NCDWQ) and local conservation organizations. Recruited and project managed a small team of biologists and geographers to consistently meet NCDWQ deadlines and presented findings at local township hearings.

Co- owned and operated Pueblo Viejo Outfitters. Guatemala's first multi-sport/ cultural immersion guiding adventure company.
