As a FemTech Founder and advocate for health equity, I am deeply passionate about addressing the spinal leak epidemic that has left millions of women suffering in silence. My journey is personal: as a spinal leak patient myself, I experienced firsthand how the medical system can often do more harm than good. Like many women, I have been left bedridden for years due to a lack of proper care and attention to the core skill of administering careful blood patches.My current focus is on bridging the education gap in blood patch procedures by leveraging innovative technology and methodologies. Physicians often struggle to predict how blood will move within the spinal area due to a lack of understanding of the physics involved. These physics change with biological diversity such as higher platelet counts by race or lower platelet counts by B12 deficiency that affect viscosity. To address the many variables involved in this physics problem in healthcare accessibility, my team and I are developing a virtual reality (VR) tool that allows medical professionals to input different factors and visualize how blood flow dynamics change under various conditions.Our work goes beyond technology. We are assembling a supportive team of physicians, PhDs, healthcare law attorneys, and business development and marketing support specialists to offer pain management physicians in private practice comprehensive support in creating cash-based practices that address this high-demand area of women's healthcare.
