Work under Dr. Hannah Viola in modulating myeloid cell phenotypes with immunomodulatory nanoparticles in murine models of pulmonary fibrosis as part of the Summer Undergraduate Research in Engineering (SURE) Program.

Work under Ph.D. student Zhanpeng Xu in collecting and analyzing data for early detection of osteoporosis in women aged 20-80 years old. Tasks include measuring trends in age and bone density from PAQUS software for future quantification after completion of patient testing.

Worked on the Urine Fertilizer Project under Lucinda Li as part of the Undergraduate Research Opportunities Program (UROP). Tasks included researching and analyzing past active carbon (AC) absorbency to build a new AC reactor, and analyzing test results for using urine as fertilizer.

Ensured the safety of all patrons at Norwood Park Pool and led weekly swim team practices.

Conducted individual research on how juglone (Juglans nigra) affected plant growth. Applied and researched juglone’s ability to decrease toxicity in existing radiation cancer treatments. Gave oral presentations at the school, city, regional, and state levels. Mentored underclassman to prepare science projects and presentations for IJAS.

Instructed swimming classes. Taught water safety skills to children and served as a lifeguard.

Researched cosmic ray speeds under Dr. Mark Adams from the University of Illinois in Chicago. Compared muon speeds with colleagues through Quarknet Database to collect data and led presentations on analyses of cosmic ray decay to peers.
