A former manager would always jokingly remind me—his exact words were “I remember you stalking me for this opportunity” and I, in turn, confidently retorted “and I know you never regretted hiring me!” We both know he did not. Fast forward, years later, to my last day at the job he said, “I would tell you good luck, but I am not worried about you, because you do great work.” In a nutshell, my former boss summarized my work ethic—I am relentless and I do great work. I am a zealous attorney, but it is not all I am. The ESQ behind my name, while it identifies my accomplishment, does not define -all of me. The work that I have done is just a testament to what I can do, but it is not all I can do. I am the sum of all my experiences and not only what the words on a page define me as. I have taken risks and with some I have struck gold and with others-not so much. I have learned that being patient does not mean being passive. I know I am not both-at the same time. My roots run deep, but I can bend and adapt. I stand ready to face any challenge -new or familiar. If you want to know who I am, just ask. My name is Marisa Jones –I am relentless and I do great work!
