Discovering the study of forensic psychology while at Texas Tech University ignited a profound passion for understanding the intricacies of the human mind and behaviors. From delving into the complexities of criminal behavior to unraveling the mysteries behind forensic investigations, my academic pursuits narrated a deep seated passion that extends beyond the classroom. During my undergraduate studies, I undertook an ambitious independent research project aimed at exploring the intersection of psychology and technology. Motivated by a passion for understanding the impact of emerging technologies on mental health, I independently designed and executed a comprehensive survey, delving into the digital habits and psychological well-being of participants. Managing every aspect of the research process, from formulating research questions to data collection and analysis, allowed me to exercise a high degree of initiative. This endeavor required navigating the complexities of both psychology and technology, showcasing my ability to work autonomously and make informed decisions. The experience not only broadened my understanding of the subject but also instilled a deep sense of independence and self-directed learning, emphasizing my commitment to pursuing innovative avenues in the realm of psychological research.With a deliberate approach, I’ve worked on developing a skill set that aligns with the expectations for a research assistant in psychology. Through my academic journey, I’ve devoted myself to reading and understanding complex academic texts as well as some simply out of personal curiosity which has greatly improved my analytical and research skills. These experiences have inspired me to consider a role as a research assistant in forensic psychology. I am keen to contribute to the field, and I believe my foundational knowledge and cultivated skills can be valuable in a dynamic research environment.
