I am a PhD candidate in the History department at UC Riverside. My research focuses on the intersections of gender and disability in the nineteenth century United States, specifically d/Deaf women and their contributions to the advent of deaf education. My research pulls from many different fields including disability studies, gender studies, archival studies, and public history. In addition to being a graduate student, I am an instructor for the UCR Gender and Sexuality Studies department. I also work as a teaching assistant for the History, Ethnic Studies, and Gender and Sexuality Studies departments at UCR.Before starting graduate school, I was an American Sign Language Interpreter for higher education institutions in the Los Angeles, Ventura, and Orange counties.
