As a tutor, I provide individualized, one-on-one tutoring and group tutoring to ESL adult learners at the Literacy Center. Founded in 1988, The Literacy Center works to enhance lives and promote self-sufficiency through classes, counseling, and support to increase confidence in adult learners. Classes I currently teach include English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL), and individualized tutoring for the MTEL.

I maintained clients' case files at the Hearings process of their Social Security Disability claim. My tasks and responsibilities included maintaining correspondence with clients as they wait for a court date with an Administrative Law Judge, filing legal documents and memoranda, gathering exhibits and records to incorporate into briefs, drafting subpoena requests and fee petitions, communicating with the Office of Disability Adjudication and Review and medical facilities (both nationwide), organizing files and medical records for attorney review, and assisting attorneys as needed.

I worked with research scientists on the frontier of science to maintain daily logistics and administrative tasks throughout the duration of conferences. My tasks and responsibilities included working with the Chairs of the conferences to balance the conference budget; conducting and overseeing administrative meetings with the Chairs, Co-Chairs, and Vice-Chairs regarding conference objectives; collaborating with conferees and site liaisons; and providing feedback and administrative support to GRC headquarters.

I worked with students to provide constructive feedback on the clarity and organization of academic writing. I also participated and presented in the Northeast Writing Centers Association Conference where I helped to create, code, and present Confidence in the Writing Center: Storying the Experience of Marginalized Voices.

As an intern for Mayor Petty, I worked under Mayor Petty's Chief of Staff, and other Worcester's City Hall personnels, on various projects and tasks. Some highlights include drafting speeches for Mayor Petty's appearances, drafting letters in response to constituents' questions and inquiries, researching and collecting data for the close of the fiscal year, compiling profiles for Mayor Petty's Tax Policy Committee, and researching Worcester's tax policies for start-up small businesses. During this short three-month internship, I was privileged to have witnessed the passion and dedication put into municipal affairs at Worcester's City Hall.
