Just like our students - our Orientation & Transitions Programs are always evolving. I was promoted from an Office Student Staff member to a Departmental Assistant. As a Departmental Assistant, I have been able to explore multiple different avenues to accommodate students ever-changing needs. This has included administrative work, assisting with the changing and rebranding of our orientation and transition program, assisting with the execution of welcome week, family weekend, as well as on-campus and online students for approximately 6,500 students, designing social media and promotional materials, managing our website, supervising a team of 8 undergraduate Office Student Staff, developing training curriculum for 30 orientation and transitions leader and more!

I provided high-level customer service to incoming new students, family members and supporters via phone calls and emails. In addition, I helped facilitate the logistics of orientation, which included assisting students in registering for their orientation date using Salesforce, creating and distributing directional signs across campus, coordinating technology needs for each session, and assisting in new student outreach. As a first generation college student, I know how difficult the transition to college can be. I love being able to assist and engage with new students during this time.

Provided support to a primary care physician by documenting each patient visit and updating the patient history in a fast-paced environment using medical terminology.
