Following this objective, DAAD/GIZ has devised the… Show more Academic Mining Education in Afghanistan (AMEA)In order to harness the huge mineral endowments of Afghanistan on a significant scale and as a part of capacity development measures, the German Federal Foreign Office mandated the GIZ (Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit) in collaboration with the DAAD (German Academic Exchange Service), to support Afghanistan to increase the number of well-trained mining professionals. Following this objective, DAAD/GIZ has devised the AMEA project through establishing academic cooperation between Germany and Afghanistan, to assist Afghan universities to upgrade, modernize and expand their mining education up to international standards. Within the framework of the AMEA project, IEE has developed a four-month 'Training the Trainers' programme to train Afghan lecturers in the areas of Economics, Law and Public Administration at RUB. These Afghan lecturers, after their return to Afghanistan, are supposed to facilitate mining-related learning in the academic as well as in the private sector. Show less
