ISGR - Institute of Social Law and Health Law

The Institute of Social Law and Health Law (ISGR) is at the faculty of law of the Ruhr Universität Bochum, Germany. The Head of the institute is Prof. Dr. Stefan Huster, who also is the head of the teaching institute of Public Law, Social Law, Health Law, and Legal Philosophy. The two institutes work closely together. The ISGR serves research in public health law and in the law of statutory health insurance, with a special concern to analyze current and socially pressing health issues intra- and interdisciplinary. The ISGR further deals with all contemporary (legal) questions concerning the COVID-19 pandemic. In addition, the ISGR offers a page www.nikolaus-beschluss.de with an evaluation of the available social court decisions, which were issued on the basis of the so-called Nikolaus decision of the Constitutional Court in Germany (BVerfG, Az.: 1 BvR 347/98) and which specify and develop it further. Last but not least, the ISGR initiated an interdisciplinary and contemporary blog for all questions and issues related to health law. It is called "gesundheitsrecht.blog" (healthlaw blog).
