• Represented ANSTO and the Australian Permanent Mission to the IAEA on numerous policy and technical issues, including nuclear and radiation safety and security, waste management, technical cooperation, and nuclear.
• Represented Australia at senior levels of, and coordinated national engagement in, IAEA Policy Making Organs, including the Board of Governors and General Conference.
• As Rapporteur of the IAEA Technical Assistance and Cooperation Committee, successfully negotiated with over 150 Member States to deliver a consensus resolution.
• Chaired and represented Australia on the UN Scientific Committee on the Effects of Atomic Radiation (UNSCEAR) Informal Contact Group, successfully coordinating consensus agreement of several UN General Assembly.
• Represented Australia at major IAEA thematic meetings, such as the International Conference on Nuclear Security, and Review Meetings of the Convention on Nuclear Safety and Joint Convention on the Safety of Spent Fuel.
• Facilitated Australian Government processes such as participation in IAEA programs such as the RCA and Coordinated Research Projects, and coordination of Host Government Agreements.

• Managed ANSTO’s regulatory interactions to deliver timely acquisition of licences and ensure regulatory compliance with agencies including, but not limited to, the Australian Radiation Protection and Nuclear Safety.
• Worked with regulators to improve regulatory frameworks, leading to revisions of legislation and regulations, improved standards and codes of practice, and more effective licencing processes resulting in efficiencies.
• Worked closely with ANSTO stakeholders to facilitate Australian Government reporting processes on regulatory matters such as legislated Parliamentary reports, Ministerial and QTBs, and responses to questions from.
• Liaised with ANSTO stakeholders, Australian Government organisations and international agencies to implement Australia’s responsibilities under international nuclear agreements including the Convention on Nuclear.
• As a member of the ANSTO Safety Assurance Committee, provided internal regulatory oversight of applications for safety approval.

• Worked closely with regulatory agencies and operators in SE Asia and the Pacific to review, develop and implement legislation, standards and procedures on radiological safety and security in many countries.
• Designed, co-ordinated and implemented both training courses for large classes and detailed fellowship programs for small groups, including for non-native English speaking participants.
• As a Radiation Protection Advisor, provided expert advice and technical services for the design and operation of on-site projects associated with radioisotope production and waste management facilities.

• Conducted inspections to monitor licence holder compliance with requirements of the ARPANS Act, Regulations and standards, and recommended appropriate enforcement actions.
