Responsibility as the main contact and relations with the U.S. Export Industry while building and managing their participation in USSEC’s programs and further develop USSEC Management Team to facilitate ongoing progress towards becoming a World Class Marketing and Program Management organization. • This position is the contact and industry relations “go to” person with current U.S. based USSEC Members, creating activities for them and increasing USSEC’s Membership numbers.• Maintain and increase USSEC relations in the soy stakeholders industry for the entire feed and food soy complex (exporters, associations, federations, financial community, logistics companies, etc) . • Work with U.S. exporters and international offices to increase opportunities for exporters in the respective regions• Create and maintain an open line of communication with appropriate representatives of USSEC’s International Offices to ensure (i) there is an understanding on commonality of goals, (ii) timing to complete specific projects to further such common goals is realistic and on schedule, and (iii) other purposes to be developed going forward as needs arise.• Provide leadership and innovative ideas to the first USSEC Global U.S. Soy Trade Exchange conference which will have international customers that represent over 60 million metric tons (2.2 billion bushels) of soy purchases.

Amsterdam Area, Netherlands

As Regional Director this position is responsible for over $1.6 Billion in export sales of US soy products. The region covered Europe (EU27), Turkey and Russia/Ukraine and the Maghreb. The regional offices are based in Amsterdam. As Regional Director of Europe, primary responsibilities are for strategic creation, direction and implementation of marketing and promotional programs, increasing distribution of US soy products, administrative affairs and maintaining and increasing sustainable trade for US soy products to the region. Key success factors have included establishing new contacts and maintaining close relationships with industry stakeholders in the food and feed sectors such as dairy, soy based consumer products as well as poultry, livestock and aquaculture producers. In additon the region works with USDA Foreign Agricultural Service offices and other US cooperators. Mr. Andersen has 35 years of global leadership experience in international business strategy and development, identifying and opening up new markets for perishable and non-persihable food and feed products, marketing, sales, imports and exports, finance, manufacturing, labor relations, procurement and government relations. His Masters of International Management (Thunderbird), along with his experience in working in over 60 countries in animal nutrition, human nutrition, market access, biotechnology, sustainability, food, dairy and confectionary products provides a unique blend of professional experience.

As Regional Director worked with key stakeholders in opening up new markets, doubled exports of US soybeans, soybean meal and soybean oil (over 1.5 billion USD; working with private companies introducing 17 new soy food/beverage products for human consumption, collaborated with USGOV, USB/ASA won an anti-dumping case that was brought against the USA on soybean meal filed by Mexico soybean crushers; increased productivity through refocusing business units and regional offices; created and impemented new strategies to continue the growth of US soy products.

Full P&L responsibility of Dairy Foods International businesses, including export sales and joint venture business associations, the development and implementation of the International Strategic Plan and identifying and opening up of new markets for perishable and non-perishable dairy products. Provided leadership and managed the direct marketing and sales related activities in foreign countries; provided linkage for international development with Land O’Lakes Dairy Food Group, Ag Services, Food Ingredients and Custom Products. The following has been accomplished:• Increased export sales by 50% through aggressive new distribution efforts• Developed a financial program that is used for planning purposes, setting strategy and understanding the product contribution to provide direction throughout the year • Initiated new marketing strategies for exports resulting in increasing profits by 3000% vs. the previous year• Lead the Dairy Foods management team to completion of a long-term plan for international growth• Developed a system to identify export markets by product categories used for long term strategies• Opened up nine new export countries for sales based out of the U.S., Poland and Taiwan• In conjunction with the Poland joint venture, successfully implemented the testing of three new products launched through local production• Introduced a dairy product line customized for the Korean consumer taste• Completed a Marketing and Sales consulting assignment for a major dairy group in Russia
