My unit led the preparation of of forest management planning, independent forest audits, renewal rate setting and Regional Director appeals of compliance penalties in Northeast Region. We further support and coordinate district implementation of the Silviculture effectiveness monitoring and compliance programs.

Chapleau/Wawa, Ontario

During Covid, acted as a supervisor for Chapleau/Wawa district. I lead a team of senior technicians and planners to adminster licencing, permiting, approvals and the associated Environmental Assessment reviews.

I initially acted in this position from July 2005 to March 2007 and then returned to my home position as Kirkland District Forester and an acting assignment as FMP Specialist for Policy Division. I finally took the job permanently in July 2008As the senior technical expert on forest management planning for Northeast region.a) I was involved in policy, manual and guide developmentb) Supported district is their duties administering the forestry programc) Supporting planning teams as they prepared FMPs.c) Coordinated across district and regional boundaries and worked on divisional level projects.d) Provided expert advice to senior management, MNRF RPFs, and partners and stakeholders (e.g. Forest industry, LCCs)e) Prepared and Delivered FMP training to planning teamsf) many other duties as assigned.
