Ada is a specialist college which inspires the diverse students of today to become the digital pioneers of tomorrow. At Ada, students can learn relevant digital skills to pursue their dream job in tech. We are a unique community which puts computer programming at the heart of everything we do. Our students are the future game changers: challenging the norm. I lead on the Psychology provision in the college. This involves preparing and delivering the A level specification, alongside the BTEc Computer Science course. I am also work on ensuring the examination provision is delivered in accordance with JCQ and the awarding bodies, this role involves ensuring the candidate entries are correct, liaising with exam boards, invigilation training, timetabling, meeting JCQ expectations. Finally I organise the college enrichment programme, an essential part of the Ada curriculum where students elect to take part in a variety of activities away from their academic study. At Ada we want to remove the glass ceiling for women and individuals from low-income backgrounds in the tech industry. Everyone, from any background, is entitled to a quality education and a better future. Our community is united by digital so we work closely with industry partners and the local community to ensure the inclusion extends beyond the walls of Ada.

I worked on the successful Access provision at the college delivering the Psychology and Sociology units on the Nursing & Health Care Studies course. The achievement rates were in the top 5% of the country and all of the students progressed to their chosen route.

City of Westminster College is an inner city college of further education, with a diverse catchment area of schools and academies and wide range of vocational and academic qualifications. A high percentage of the students are from lower socioeconomic groups. Many of the 16-18 cohort came from families on means tested benefits and were eligible for bursaries. Approximately 44% of the College’s students have a first language other than English. The College runs a wide range of academic and vocational courses at a variety of levels. The A level area made up a small percentage of the total college cohort and are offered to full-time students over a two year study programme. Around 50% of the A level students are retaking their A levels after trying at their schools or other colleges in the London area.I worked on the A level provision that catered for some 250 students, managed and supported the A level teaching staff including, Maths, Sciences, English, Modern Languages, Humanities and Media/Arts areas. With Senior Leadership, I was jointly responsible for curriculum development and the student journey from application stage, ultimately to progress to Higher Education and or employment.
