I am a classically-trained electrical engineer with passion for, and demonstrated ability, to build electronics for commercial, industrial, and hobby applications. At an integrated circuit and printed-circuit board level, I have experience in using passive components, typical analog building blocks, digital functions, and complex modules to perform the needs of the system while always tuning for the right balance of cost, reliability, size, safety, testability, manufacturability, and schedule. My interest in electronics have taken me on a fun set of adventures through medical camera system electronics design, integrated circuit test development, integrated circuit design, system test electronics design, MEMS drive electronics, infrared camera electronics design, and system-level integration of camera cores into industrial imaging applications. I’ve integrated many Xilinx and Altera FPGAs to perform camera control and image processing functions, along with DDRx memory, MIPI, CameraLink, and high-speed SerDes devices. I’ve worked with Altium, Mentor Graphic’s DxDesigner, PADS, HyperLynx, and ModelSim, plus LTSpice, Polar, Eagle, Orcad, SynaptiCad Synplicity, and Corelis JTAG tools. I use my training in Kepnor Tregoe Problem Solving, Decision Making, and Risk Analysis on a regular basis for my life and job. I am happiest when I’m in the lab integrating new designs and debugging electronics problems. I am familiar with SAP and the Agile/SCRUM lean development processes.
