Design EngineerJcb Aug 1999 - Dec 2004I intially joined JCB as part of their under graduate sponsorship programe and spent a year out in the Loadall Division spending time in the Marketing, Purchasing Manufacturing and Design departments.I joined the Compact products department after graduating, working on the Current Product side of the design team. This included supporting warranty issues and design optimisation for manufacturing and assembly as well as cost optimisation excercises on products.I then moved onto new prodcut design where I was involved with the 808 crawler excavator and the 801 face lift.While in these roles I developed my CAD skills and gained experience in modelling more complex components including boywork panels, engine covers and counterweight castings. This helped me develop my surfacing skills and involved a high level of interaction with the company stylists.While at JCB I was also heavily involved in the Teamcenter pilot programe and was a member of the company CAD steering group (CADET).
