I have been heavily involved in the development of a number of the division’s policies and procedure such as: DSEAR Policy and Risk Assessment Template; Legionella, Manual Handling...to name a few.Undertaking risk assessments on work equipment to ensure compliance with PUWER, advising the site on compliance with any relevant BS EU and/or ISO standards.Involvement with the Permit to Work steering group to ensure a consistent approach across the energy business with the production of procedural documents stipulating responsibilities and approaches to permits to work and isolations within energy from waste. Development of an appointed persons procedure and authorisation panel for those applying isolations.Coaching employees and guiding management on the development of Risk Assessments to ensure they can become self sufficient in reducing foreseeable risks and influencing them on approaching the assessment of tasks following the hierarchy of controls.Planning shutdowns with management and ensuring contractor compliance.
