l am a Mental Health Practitioner specialising in working with Looked After & Adopted Children, their foster carers, adoptive parents, social workers and all other involved professionals. I provide mostly consultative, support and advisory services, but also some person-centred counselling, Theraplay and dyadic therapy to children and their carers. I serve the west of Norfolk out of King's Lynn.

Three-month +1 month contract within an Emotional Resilience Team (Tier Two) based in Newark in Nottinghamshire, providing assessment and short-term therapeutic interventions to local children and families.Six-month contract within a triage team in Barking & Dagenham CAMHS. My colleagues and I screened and assessed all the referrals coming into the service, sometimes doing short pieces of therpeutic work with children and families, sometimes referring on to Tier 3 or 4 services. It was a challenging yet exhilarating role, requiring compassion, quick thinking, tact and understanding. My contract finished at the end of February 2015.Six-month contract in Rotheram CAMHS, providing assessment and short-term therapeutic interventions to local children and families.

I worked for ten years as a practitioner/therapist. Sustain is a specialist CAMHS service with three teams across Staffordshire. I worked with colleagues from mixed disciplines - psychologists, family therapists art therapists, psychotherapists and counsellors - and learned a great deal of different therapeutic approaches as a result.Sustain works with Looked After and adopted children and their families, drawing from theories of developmental trauma and attachment. I worked systemically and made it my particular role to support local authority foster carers in groups, as well as to liaise with various social work teams providing advice and consultations to individual social workers and social work teams. I also helped to provide formal training to fellow professionals from different disciplines, and worked closely with schools, youth justice teams and the Probation Service in multi-agency settings.I had a caseload during this time from twenty to thirty cases, working mostly with children from ten upwards, but concentrating particularly on longer term work for up to two years with teenagers. I have a certificate in person-centred counselling from Keele University and have completed my Level One training with Dan Hughes on attachment therapy (DDP) and in Theraplay

Working with children & their families,, running core groups, preparing conference reports, providing advice and support and safeguarding the welfare of children in their families.Undertaking Section 47 investigations and providing court reports under sections 38 & 31 of the CA 1989. Supervising family support workers. Video interviewing. Some youth justice work.
