I started playing drums, then bass and finally guitar in the sixties. I formed Ruby Topaz in the early 1970s.In the 80’s, the Ruby Topaz single Why/ The Sack had some international success, and was played on the radio in England, France, Germany, Switzerland, and Belgium. We played our progressive brand of glam rock in Rhode Island as well as CBGB’s , Gildersleeves, and L’Amour’s in New York. We have ooened for many national acts, including John Entwhistle of The Who. I cowrote ‘A Piece of Our Hearts’ with Al Gomes of BIGNOISE RECORDS for Rhode Island Bandwagon, a project to feed the homeless in Rhode Island. I have produced five CDs, available on cdbaby and itunes, as well as many other outlets and my website. I own a recording studio and continue to record. In addition to recording and performing, I am a Grandmaster of the Lee Wah Yook Qi Quan system of internal Chinese martial arts, and a Sifu in the Yeung (Yang) Family style of Taijiquan (Tai Chi Chuan) and I started training with Lee Wah Yook (President of the New England Branch of the Eastern United States Kung Fu Federation) in 1979. I trained one on one in the back of his Chinese restaurant for 12 years until his passing, after which I was given a letter by his son passing on Lee Wah Yooks system to me.
