I'm a Social Media Apprentice currently working for a road safety company in Shotteswell where I write articles for three different websites our company has. I write about any news concerning young drivers, cyclists and motorcyclists with the aim of gaining more interest in our company on Facebook, twitter and our websites. Before I started working for Road Safety Analysis I studied a Level 3 Media Production course at Banbury College for two years. Spending time studying a topic I have a huge love for with people in my own age bracket I was able to share this experience with, and learn off of was a great experience for me and something I will always remember. During the two years at college I learnt a lot of creative skills (like being able to film and edit) I didn't know before. These two years were hugely influential in making me the person I am today and allowed me to release my true potential. As well as studying at college Monday – Thursday I also had two part time jobs during this period to help with college fees. I got my first job at marks & Spencer’s when I was sixteen, getting the job at Marks & Spencer is one of my proudest moments to date- being able to work with such a reputable company at such a young age. There were many people of different age groups and skills I was up against in the interview so getting the job over them is still is a personal highlight to date. My second job came when I was seventeen when I started working for a Farmfoods a frozen food retail store. Working there for 8 months allowed me to save up enough money I needed towards the end of my college course to pursue further education – either continuing doing a Higher National Diploma course at College or try and find a work placement in the media sector. I have always been confident when working as part of a team and always enjoyed mixing with different age groups, I wanted a job were these skills would be crucial for me to succeed.
