Reading (Raising Participation Partnership)

The RPP, was set up in April 2010 following the Machinery of Government changes and abolition of the LSC and provided a shared service to theBerkshire Unitary Authorities of Windsor & Maidenhead, Slough, Reading,Wokingham and West Berkshire.The RPP works in partnership with key stakeholders including schools andacademies, further education colleges, independent learning providers, providersof alternative provision, local employer representatives, including the ThamesValley Berkshire Local Enterprise Partnership (LEP), Education BusinessPartnerships and Connexions Berkshire as well as regional and nationalGovernment including the YPLA. It supports local authorities to fulfil their statutoryrole bringing partners together, providing expertise and advice to help inform localpolicy, practice and planning. It has a key role in shaping local education andskills provision to ensure all young people are able to participate and achieve inlearning and gain the experience and skills needed to make the successfultransition to adulthood.
