I joined Magna in 1982 after completing college specializing in tool and dieInitially I was placed in the tool shop where my education aligned with the job.Shortly after joining my leadership skills allowed me to move into a production supervisor role.Magna groomed me for world class production methods with various courses over several years.Courses such as Lean / Kaizen, SPC, Leadership, 6 Sigma, DOE, FMEA, JIT, etc. were the building blocks of my career in production.As I became highly skilled in the production supervisor role it became apparent I was destined to move up the ladder and management promoted myself to production manager in 1998.This was an exciting time when we grew the business from $60 million to $150 million in annual sales with a work force of 700 employees. Automated test systems, Robotics, web based production reporting systems all became the new way to do business in the next millennium. I continued as a very successful production manager until 2007 when I was again promoted to the operations manager.Unfortunately, Invotronics closed in 2009 after it went through a few ownership changes in the final years with the last change of name was Flextronics taking over Solectron, Flextronics felt it was strategic to move all of their North American manufacturing operations to Mexico and China facilities.
