I am managing projects for whg relating to tenancy services. My major responsibility is to oversee the organisation's preparations and responses to welfare reform, the changes that the Government has made to the benefits system. I devised and implemented detailed strategy and intervention plans to deal with people affected by the bedroom tax, benefit cap and changes to disability benefits. I am still leading on preparing whg for Universal Credit, the flagship welfare reform which will bring direct payment of benefit to claimants in its wake. This involves designing a major piece of research to find out how whg and its tenants will be affected by this switch, particularly what interventions will be necessary to support tenants to keep the roof over their heads.I also lead other housing-related projects. In April 2014, I successfully led a bid for whg to gain accreditation for income management with Housing Quality Network. I am a regular blogger on social housing and welfare reform and have had rants published on whg's intranet, housing media and The Guardian.I speak regularly at housing conferences and have hosted webinars, including for CIH's Direct Payment Learning Network. My objective is to continue with policy, strategy and project work.
