I lead the Enterprise Counseling Section of State Farm’s Law Department, which consists of attorneys that comprise the following units: (i) Privacy & Information Security, (ii) Investments, (iii) Tax, Reinsurance, and Financial Planning, (iv) Corporate Counseling and Transactions, (v) Intellectual Property, and (vi) HR/Agency.Prior to my current role, I led the Business Lines Counseling Section of the Law Department; prior to that, the Intellectual Property and Tax Units. And prior to that role, I practiced tax law for over 16 years, specializing in federal corporate income taxation of insurance companies, mutual funds, and banks. In addition to taxation, I have experience in insurance regulation, insurance company licensing, corporate governance, legislative/regulatory affairs, reinsurance, and insurance risk-linked securities.
