In my role as CEO, I lead all Charleston Water System (CWS) initiatives while reporting to and acting with the authority of its Board of Commissioners. My responsibilities also include government and regulatory relations to ensure that the utility meets the needs of its customers while maintaining compliance requirements.I started my career with CWS in 1984. I've served in mission-critical roles throughout my tenure including Engineer, Engineering Manager, Plant Engineer, Director of Water Treatment, Director of Design and Construction, Capital Projects Officer, Assistant Chief Executive Officer, and ultimately I became CEO in August 2022.I am a 1981 graduate of North Carolina State University where I earned a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering. I'm licensed as a professional engineer and as a water treatment plant operator. I'm a member of the American Water Works Association where I served on the Board of Directors from 2010 to 2013 and as a vice president from 2012 to 2013. I'm also a member of the Water Environment Federation and the American Society of Civil Engineers.
