Belgravia Kids is the latest venture for the Belgravia Group, establishing swim schools and gymnastics centres in high population growth corridors to provide much needed facilities for young families.With an innovative ‘turn-key’ model that allows these facilities to be established in standard retail and light-industrial spaces or to partner with Councils and schools, Belgravia Kids aims to deliver vital services, quickly and cost-effectively, right in the heart of the communities who need them the most. Under my leadership and working with my board, this start-up has already quickly grown to over 30,000 weekly participants and 70 facilities operating or in development across Australia and New Zealand within less than three years. This growth has been through a mixture of new developments, strategic acquisitions and franchising. The company currently operates two key brands, Jump Swim Schools and BK's Gymnastics.The acquisition of Jump Swim Schools has also been a significant and complex corporate and cultural turnaround project. We have taken the business from liquidation and increased enrolments by over 40%, have industry leading customer satisfaction scores and opened the business back up for new franchising growth again.

My role oversaw the Recreation and Leisure Services group that incorporated the Recreation and Open Space, Glen Eira Leisure and Parks departments. The group has an annual operating budget of $35 million, an annual capital budget of $6 million and over 400 staff members. Working closely with the senior executive team and Councillors, this role was responsible for delivering key facility development and health and wellbeing outcomes of Council's Strategic Plan.Recreation and Open Space provide strategic planning and stakeholder engagement for the development of the City's recreation activities, facilities and open space and manages and schedules Council's public sport pavilions and sports grounds. It also manages contracts, licenses and allocations for Council's recreation facilities with sports clubs and associations and manages the new and upgrade capital works undertaken in the City's parks and reserves.Glen Eira Leisure is responsible for the direct operation of Glen Eira's leisure facilities. This includes the Glen Eira Sports and Aquatic Centre (GESAC) which is Australia's premier community sports and aquatic centre with over 15,000 members and 1.6 million visits per annum. It also oversees the management of the Carnegie Swim Centre, one of Melbournes most well known seasonal outdoor pools and Caulfield Recreation Centre, a boutique health and fitness venue.Parks is the in-house provider of the maintenance of Council's open space and street trees, sportsgrounds, playgrounds and park infrastructure and manages the renewal capital works undertaken in the City's parks and reserves. The team also provides technical advice and support to Council departments on horticultural/arboricultural related capital and future maintenance works.
