• Lead communications efforts promoting achievements of the school’s faculty, staff, and students.
• Lead Dean’s Office communications team of 18 professionals who write and create content for web pages, social media, and news announcements for partner departments and centers. Coordinate with communications colleagues.
• Respond to media inquiries. Lead crisis communications response efforts, collaborating with executive leadership, legal, faculty affairs, and other communicators. Create and distribute weekly media summary to school.
• Write and edit executive communications for the Dean’s office, including the Dean’s weekly message to campus, monthly reports to boards of affiliated hospitals and to the school’s executive leaders, appreciation.
• Edit CU Medicine Today magazine, published twice a year. Write and edit articles, manage writers and budget, oversee printing and distribution. Edit the school’s annual report.

• Support the Dean and senior leadership team to advance school priorities.
• Serve as a senior advisor and strategic partner to the Dean and Senior Associate Deans on personnel, business, and political matters.
• Oversee and contribute to development of executive-level materials, including briefing papers, correspondence, remarks, communications, presentations, reports, for the Dean.
• Coordinate government relations for the Dean. Gather data and write responses to legislative inquiries. Serve on search committees for university’s federal lobbyist.
• Staff chair search committees and work groups as the Dean’s representative.
• Manage four-person team handling the administrative operations of the Office of the Dean. Support Dean’s executive assistant with setting priorities for Dean’s schedule.
