  • National Library Of Scotland
    Centenary Coordinator

    Edinburgh, Scotland, United Kingdom
I am currently working on exciting plans which will help to build the profile of, and engagement with, the National Library of Scotland and its unique and impressive collections during the Library's centenary year in 2025/26. There are three main strands of activity which I am working to develop, coordinate and manage: The first is a major co-curated exhibition which will run for 9 months to a year at the National Library of Scotland in Edinburgh, and which will focus on the importance of books, reading and libraries. The exhibition will be co-curated in collaboration with high-profile writers and artists, community groups and individuals from around Scotland. The second is a national programme of spotlight loans of items from Library collections to museums and galleries around Scotland. This will engage communities in different parts of the country with rare and valuable items which are of particular local interest, and will also create opportunities for public programming and other related activities. The third is a nationwide PR and marketing campaign in support of (and in collaboration with) the broader library sector, celebrating the civic importance of libraries and highlighting the stories of how libraries have changed people's lives. I am also working more broadly on Media & Communications strategy for the Library's centenary in collaboration with external partner organisations, two high-profile Centenary Champions, and companies such as Scotrail and Lothian Buses who will be supporting the Library in its centenary year.
