The Ministry of Health has overall responsibility for the management and oversight of the NSW Health system. In this role, I am responsible for leading the development, implementation and evaluation of policies and funds programs and services to improve health and reduce the burden of chronic disease in NSW. Population health priorities include prevention of drug and alcohol harms, healthy eating and active living, tobacco control, blood borne viruses and sexually transmissible infections (including HIV). Role responsibilities include:• Provide oversight and governance to digital programs that underpin the digital transformation of NSW Health.• Lead the management and reporting of performance data for performance monitoring and evaluation of population health priorities.• Coordinate executive correspondence functions to support the executive team to meet time and quality requirements• Lead the provision of high-level, and specialist advice to the Executive on issues associated with the delivery of Population Health priorities and other state-wide health initiatives. Highlights include:• Established a Project Management Office that provides overarching governance to the on-going development and implementation of NSW Health digital programs and projects. • Provide leadership within the Centre for Population Health in driving evidenced based decision making, building analytical capability and promoting a culture of reporting and accountability.

In this role, I managed the Information Analysis Unit to provide revenue forecasting and data modelling essential to formulating the NSW Government’s Budget and fiscal strategy, as well as the formulation of prospective tax policy reforms to improve the State’s $300 billion+ economy. I also supported and drove RNSW’s strategy, while providing analytical support to develop strategy and operational planning, business metrics and KPIs.
