As Regional Lead I undertake the day to day management of the Seed consultants within the North of England and Scotland, reporting to the management team on all matters including Projects within my region, Finances, Health & Safety, Office Matters and Staffing.Within my region we are carrying out a variety of projects surrounding contaminated land and spill response with current projects ranging from domestic heating oil spills, industrial/agricultural pollution incidents, chemical spills and flood and fire events. We cover from the Midlands and South Yorkshire up to John o' Groats as well as the Scottish Islands with a dedicated, hard-working and amicable team.

I joined Seed (then Tergeo) in August 2015 as a Senior Environmental Consultant. My role within Seed is to assist with the management of the northern business unit within England and the day to day project management of works surrounding domestic oil spills from the initial environmental assessment to creating a remediation strategy, validating and invoicing. I have also aided in the training of junior members of staff, assisted with the management of the organisations Safety, Health and Environment Plans and Procedures. Within this role I deal directly with clients, customers and government agencies and have assisted with business development, winning a large scale three-year contract. I have also aided the accreditation procedures assisting with parts of our ISO accreditation and managing our Achilles membership.

I joined Tergeo in 2015 as a Senior Environmental Consultant. My role within Tergeo is to manage domestic oil spills from the initial environmental assessment to creating a remediation strategy, validating and invoicing. I also assist in the management of Phase I and Phase II environmental assessment, the training of graduate members of staff, the running of the drilling side of the business, currently one window sampler rig and the management of the organisations Safety, Health and Environment Plans and Procedures.My responsibilities include:- carrying out site investigations to delineate the extent of contamination both internally within insured buildings/ homes and externally within soils and surface/groundwater- designing, costing and organising programmes of remedial works - conducting emergency spill response to deal with environmental incidents within water courses- report writing- organising contractors, materials, vehicles and other administrative tasks

I am part of a team who are working on a large scale project delivering environmental response and remedial works for Northern Powergrid across their north eastern business unit. This includes working a 24 hour incident response call line, remediating oil spills among other contamination incidents, and working large scale legacy projects to assess the effectiveness of previous remedial methods. As well as this we aid them in decommissioning electricity substations providing environmental risk assessments and remedial options.I also deliver all aspects of environmental risk assessment from desk top studies to quantitative risk assessments. I have delivered projects from tender through to completion working on a variety of sites. from greenfield to former industrial sites to highly sensitive works at gas terminals, electricity substations and nuclear power stations. During my time with RSK I have also been out to Iraq to work on an environmental risk assessment within oil and gas facilities in the southern oil fields. This has been done using cable and window sampler drilling methods to delineate areas of contamination.Other relevant skills: ●person, BESC and HSG47 trained●Capable of soil logging to BS 5930●UK drivers license plus advanced driving courses including off road driving●Emergency First Aid at Work

I was employed here as a Duty Manager whilst I was in between environmental consultancies.My job role included, opening and closing the pub, managing the staff and handling the money from the tills, banking it and using systems to monitor that no money has gone missing. Whilst this job was to keep me in employment between jobs I took to it seriously and made sure that everything was done in a correct and professional manner.

Delta-Simons was my first experience of working within the field of geo-environmental science and unfortunately due to extenuating circumstances my contract could not be renewed. I have learned a lot whilst working here due to being fast-tracked through the business, a fact they have told me they are willing to confirm. The experience I have gained has been invaluable not only from the work side but also I managed my own time and schedule to get all my work done both in the office and field improving on my time management skills. Unfortunately I was made redundant during a tight first quarter for the company though I have kept in touch and have no hard feelings with the team.
