My research focuses on long-term mitigation pathways, embedded in the IMAGE modelling team at PBL, in close collaboration with Utrecht University. My dissertation delves into the study of spreading phenomena in complex systems. While purely theoretical at first glance, I applied complexity theory to address a diverse range of real-world issues: epidemic spreading of COVID-19, social dynamics, railway disruptions, neurological states and climate tipping points.
