Principal test engineer for most major routing features on Extreme/Enterasys network products (edge, distribution and core routing platforms). Platforms are flow-based, requiring ASIC-specific testing of packet reframing for programmed flows. Main areas of concentration were routing applications (NAT, server/cache load-balancing), various L2/L3 tunnel interface encapsulations (GRE IPv4/IPv6, direct IPv4/IPv6, GRE Ethernet bridging, GRE pseudowire, remote mirroring), policy-based routing (using basic and extended ACLs), routing protocols (BGP, OSPF, ISIS, VRRP), IPsec and VPN technology (L3VPNs using BGP/MPLS, and L2VPNs using MPLS pseudowire for VPLS/VPWS). Most recently, I have taken the lead position for testing and explaining various SDN-related features on the Extreme/Enterasys platforms such as OpenFlow, OpenStack, OVSDB, VXLAN, and EasyFabric with spine/leaf topology. This involved researching the topics, preparing test plans, and preparing tutorial presentations for my group. I also have a fairly extensive knowledge of many multicast switching/routing protocols (IGMP, MLD, DVMRP, PIM-DM/SM/SSM, MSDP, multi-topology), as well as being knowledgeable about the various switching/VLAN protocols (STP, SPBV, LAG/MLAG, LLDP, etc). I wrote test scripts using Perl, Python, Tcl and Expect. Most recently, I wrote some Python test scripts to interface with the Ryu Openflow controller API for testing the Openflow feature on our routing platforms. Also used IXIA applications (ixNetwork and ixLoad) for exercising products in system test configurations for scalability and performance, and proficient in setting up virtualized test environments (using VMware, VirtualBox, KVM and Xen) for simulating data-center traffic conditions and host mobility. As a principal engineer in our group I have also helped train, mentor and motivate many junior members of the team. Extensive experience with Agile/devOps methods of organizing project cycles via daily scrum meetings.

Created and maintained a large topology network for testing MPLS TE (Traffic Engineering) using the Avici TSR core routing products. Wrote an MPLS TE test plan for exercising MPLS, RSVP-TE, LDP, BGP, OSPF, IS-IS and MPLS Fast Reroute (bypass and detour) functionality. Executed the MPLS TE test plan for new releases to AT&T and Turk Telecom, and logged many bugs that were resolved by development. Developed Tcl/Tk scripts to interface with the Agilent and Smartbits test platforms for MPLS testing.

Westford, Massachusetts

Wrote and reviewed Perl test scripts for testing of Lucent's ATM and Frame Relay switches. Designed and setup lab network topology using ATM and FR switches with different trunking protocols (Virtual Network Navigator and PNNI), as well as third-party router connections (Cisco and Juniper) and traffic emulation equipment (Adtech, Spirent and Agilent). Was lead test engineer on ATM/FR proxy signaling, closed user groups, IP packet filters, QoS flow profiles, and IP route-map/redistribution.

Wrote and performed system tests for the 3Com/Chipcom line of hub switches with integrated routers and remote-access devices. Developed Tcl/Tk scripts to automate testing for third-party integrated Cisco and Retix routers, as well as Xylogics and Centrum remote-access controllers. Developed a complete set of diagnostic board-level and system-level tests for Galactica, a high-density Ethernet switching system.
