Director, Enterprise Applications
Current• Responsible for improving operational processes and supporting critical business strategies by directing the development, implementation, and maintenance of applications systems including Point-of-Sale, Data Warehouse, Reporting, GL, etc• Participate in all aspects of application lifecycle including requirements, design, implementation, testing, and deployment. • Work with business partners to define the roadmap and all requirements for store POS software and systems used in over 650 restaurants with annual sales of $780M. This is a complex software package that includes order entry, kitchen production, timers, timekeeping, fraud detection, and reporting.• Partner with other departments on data integration and system requirements. This includes Finance, Payroll, Supply Chain, Operations and Marketing.• Lead a team consisting of one development manager, two on-site developers and one offshore developer whose responsibility is to maintain and enhance POS software.• Lead the collaborative, dynamic planning process – prioritize the work to be completed against the capacity and capability of the team.• Lead the QA team to ensure all systems are high quality and free of defects. • Document business requirements and communicate to developers.• Apply software release methodology to roll out system changes.• Establish change management controls for SOX compliance. Work alongside auditors to provide required evidence during annual audit. • Manage the team who is responsible for updating all stores with new menu items, pricing updates, coupon/discount updates, etc.• Major Accomplishment: Our development process was working on business requests that were unplanned and ad hoc. I worked with the business to move to a planned quarterly release cycle which included creating a backlog of requests and a roadmap on how changes fit into the release cycle.
