I am currently working as a Senior Radio Optimiser for O2 looking after the GSM and UMTS performance of an area in the North of England. I have been involved in the EGSM refarm to allow the deployment of UMTS900 across my area. I have also attended a number of Ericsson UMTS courses whilst gaining knowledge in the use of tools such as PrOptima and Atoll.

Having been TUPE'd to Ericsson to work on the RAN Share of T-Mobile and H3G's UMTS Networks.I worked on the network share making sure that sites met expected KPI's once enabled for both vendors and also that there was no degradation both to the 3G and also any 2G sites. Having come to the end of the network consolidation, a large cluster optimisation project was started where i was responsible for a number of clusters from Leeds across to Newcastle. I was also chosen to be a lead for a 2G Action Group for the North, heading up calls and meetings with other members from other teams to point and identify areas of improvement and also pass on my knowledge to allow them to resolves issues in a timely manner.

Responsible for GSM and UMTS performance of Leeds and surrounding areas. RF planning and optimisation. Continually monitoring performance and making improvements to maintain and improve KPI's.

After leaving Marconi, I started working for Corporate4u which was a subsidiary company of Phones4u dealing with corporate customers. I worked in the IT Dept starting off in desktop support. I was taking calls and then going to fix problems, whether it be printer, network, fax, phone, RAS problems to even help writing macros and queries for people working there. I gained experience in working on Windows 2000 servers, setting mail servers and user servers gaining experience in ADS, print servers. Also gained experience in networking, creating Cat5 patch cables and managing the internal phone system.

I started as a Trainee Software Engineer with day release to College to study HNC/HND and Degree in Software Engineering. I obtained a permanent job in Contract Engineering where we worked on tenders for BT's MSIP Network. We worked on Alcatel switches and was also involved in the network design. I completed my studies upto HND Standard before the demise of Marconi.
