I had an automobile accident February 7th of 2014. It resulted in an incomplete break of my neck. After a short stay at Wesley Hospital in Wichita, I transferred to Madonna Rehabilitation Hospital in Lincoln, NE.A very fine institution, I was released two months later, and after a brief (1 week) stay at home, I returned to BRG. I relied on a wheelchair, much therapy (PT and OT), and medication to get me back to full time. Unfortunately, I could not complete everyone of my job requirements and was let go about 2 years later. I then applied for and received Permanent Disability coverage from the SSA and have remained there since. I can walk assisted for short distances, and with the help of implants, medication, and very comfortable shoes, the pain is mostly controlled. there are times when my sleep patterns are disrupted, but I can work through it.
