My role is to identify and understand the problems and issues that clients face, and work with them to develop effective solutions to day-to-day organisational and operational problems.Recently working with a client to restructure their investment policy/strategy, resulting in a performance that is less volatile, and more in line with the organisation's objectives. In addition working with the Trustees on their governance, reporting and the transparency of their operations, acting as the clients’ Company Secretary, monitoring governance, investment performance and advising on strategic asset allocation and objectives.Other work that has been undertaken for clients includes:• due diligence work on a merger, working with both parties to minimise costs, whilst at the same time looking at implementation issues;• financial re-engineering and planning, • investment manager tendering;• development of investment objectives and strategy;• monitoring of investment performance along with associated recommendations to improve performance and reduce volatility;• implementation of very strict ethical investment policies for an animal charity;• assistance with strategic development of mid size charity.

This employment will give them the freedom to give back to others. This community includes RTC’s board, our partners on the ground in South Africa, and donors of time, talent, and money like you. What We Do1. Raise the Children International (RTC) identifies, selects and contracts orphans and vulnerable children (OVC) into our network of scholars. We work with nearly 50 children in South Africa today.2. RTC makes core investments in high quality education for the orphans and vulnerable children in our community by recruiting college graduates from the U.S. to teach in South Africa. Through this recruitment we are able to enrich the schools of South Africa with strong teachers and recieve scholarships for our children to attend private school.3. We provide on-the-ground mentors for sponsored children once they move into high school.4. We build ties to companies that offer scholarship or work/study opportunities for our scholars. These partnerships provide a menu of employment options for our young people and create opportunities for our scholars to get jobs upon graduation.

The mission of Millennium Promise (MP) is to provide the operational platform and resource mobilization for the Millennium Villages Project, which empowers communities to lift themselves out of extreme poverty. At Millennium Promise, our vision is the eradication of extreme poverty, hunger, and preventable disease within our lifetime. We believe that extreme poverty can be cut in half by 2015, even in some of the poorest, most remote places in the world. Our vision becomes action through the Millennium Villages Project (MVP). The MVP was launched in 2005/06 to create a pathway to achieve the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) in the poorest regions of rural Africa. A partnership initiative of the Earth Institute at Columbia University and MP, the MVP is using a holistic, science-based approach to benefit more than 500,000 people in 10 countries across sub-Saharan Africa.In the Villages, practical – and affordable – solutions that simultaneously address interconnected challenges in health and nutrition, agriculture and environment, education, infrastructure, gender equality and business development are demonstrating what can be achieved with the right approach and resources.We believe in empowering communities and partners alike to become a part of the solution to ending extreme poverty. Together, we can fulfill our generation’s promise to end extreme poverty.

The vision was to ensure all charities work efficiently and effectively, and where they are unable to achieve this alone, to provide services they can tap into at a fraction of the cost.Working with a small executive team my role was as the main liaison with the Board of Directors and the Investors in the implementation of the agreed strategy and fundraising for the business. The following are some of the clients that I worked with and the projects:• British Red Cross - restructuring of the finance function;• WWF - review of finance systems and methodologies world wide to reduce costs;• Cadbury Barrow Trust - investment policy/strategy, selection of investment manager and implementation;• Age UK - various mergers of branches and feasibility studies

Brinkworth Earl Danby's School is a Church of England Voluntary Controlled Primary School. It was opened is 1992 as a result of the federation of two schools in adjacent villages - Brinkworth County Primary School and Earl Danby's School, Dauntsey. The federation of two schools means that both buildings are kept open, but the original two schools run as one, with one headteacher, one governing body and one staff. The school is a split site school. The sites are two miles apart, with both locations on spacious sites within beautiful rural North Wiltshire.During my tenor as Chair the following was achieved:• changes to the governance model so as to ensure conflicts of interest were better understood and dealt with in a transparent manor• implemented a recruitment system for Governors in a way that supported the needs and requirements of the school;• implemented a methodology and process for succession planning for governors and the leadership team;

PPP Healthcare Medical Trust, became fully independent with an endowment of approximately £540 million resulting from the sale of the PPP Healthcare group. My main accomplishments were as follows:• implementation of the initial investment strategy;• selection/implementation of the strategy with seven investment managers and custodian;• setting up the structure for investment monitoring and revisions to the strategy in times of market uncertainty;• led the grants team to develop a streamlined and cost effective means of managing hundreds of applications.• developed and implemented the finance systems for the Foundation as well as integrating it with the grants side of the business.
