About Mark Grant

I work at the interface between science research and its diverse community of users from government, industry, and education. I bring together multiple stakeholders to collaborate on complex environmental management and sustainability projects to translate leading science into policy and action plans. I have worked for federal and state government agencies, universities, national research infrastructure projects, and as a sole-trader consultant in both scientific and knowledge-brokering roles across the natural resource management and education sectors since 2006. After completing a Bachelor of Science (Resource and Environmental Management) I worked as a scientist in integrated water management in Australia and overseas. Working in these technical roles, I developed a passion for excellent communication and its absolute necessity in science. I have more than 10 years of experience in utilising my skills in science communication, stakeholder engagement and collaboration, project management to deliver real outcomes and impact. I have lived and worked in Japan for 10 years and possess excellent intercultural and international relations skills. I have also lived and worked in Vietnam.
