Mark is an accomplished member of the Institute of Civil Engineers and a Member of the Association for Project Managers with over 25 years’ experience of Programme and Project Management and over 12 years of these at a senior level.Mark began his career with Balfour Beatty as a member of their graduate engineer development programme. In 1991 he joined Defence Works Services, initially leading their Structures Section rising to Head their Specialist Services Team. He was a member of the British Standards drafting team for Mast & Towers and was the UK national technical contact for Eurocode 3.1.In 2001 Mark was appointed Integrated Project Team Leader for the £750M Central Regional Prime Contract. Mark formed the team and led it through the various stages of the procurement process to contract award and then through to mobilisation of the contract in April 2006. He was then appointed Deputy Director in November 2005 and with an annual budget of £100M was responsible for the delivery of estate management services to establishments in the North of England, West Midlands and Wales.In 2010 Mark was asked to lead the Contract Development Team for the Next Generation of Estate Contracts. An ambitious programme to develop and procure a cost effective mix of estate procurement vehicles delivering facilities management and capital works to establishments within the UK. Mark introduced nec3 contracts to NGEC and has overseen the award of six Prime Contracts and a series of Capital Work Frameworks with a portfolio value in excess of £4.5B.Mark currently leads the Future Procurement Group Portfolio Management Office responsible for delivering a range of procurement models for facilities management and capital works contracts.
