INDEPENDENT INSURANCE COMPANY LIMITED (JANUARY 2001 – JULY 2001)• At Independent at the beginning of 2001I worked as a 'Commercial Underwriter' handling renewals, mid-term adjustments and changes to policy cover.• A system of 'case ownership' was adopted and henceforth I was exposed to a wide variety of trade risks and exposures for Property (including Commercial Property Owners) and Liability insurance.Please note that I was 'head hunted' for the Independent position.• Typically I tended to handle Property and Liability policies with an annual premium of approx £25,000 - £50,000.• In addition I was allocated a new recruit for whom I acted as a 'mentor' assisting in his initial development at the Company. This included system and technical referrals and training.Unfortunately Independent Insurance went into liquidation in July 2001.

This position was based at the Chelmsford Branch and involved the handling of quotations and renewal retention.Premium limits/licensing:• Employers Liability £25,000• Public/Products Liability £25,000 (also dealt with PL Excess of Loss policies)• Combined Policies (Material Damage/Business Interruption/Money/Goods In Transit and All Risks cover) £25,000
