Scroll downStarted off at Gamma Computers, doing retail sales, purchasing, creation of marketing materials, building machines, other technical work, and was also sole charge of the kiosk at the North Shore BranchFrom there moved the PBTech. The idea was that everyone needed to work for a while at the head office, before being able to move to their desired branch (which for me was on the North Shore). By the end of the first day, I had already been told that I'd be off to North Shore for the rest of the week.After a few years at PBTech, I moved to Ingram Micro, where I had a few roles - Key Account Support, and then Quote Desk, followed by Pre-Sales Solution Architect. When Dell purchased EMC, Ingram merged the two teams, and I was made redundant.I had a job within 2 days, working for one of my previous customers (Revtech), on a temporary/permanent basis, doing tech support, installation of devices, setting up servers, and keeping the office tidy (at least trying to).A few months later, LANtech approached me, wanting to know if I was keen to move to Wellington. That caused a few butterflies, as it was my first time leaving what had been my home city for an awfully long time. I spent 4 years doing account management, and then realised that I wanted to go back to what drew me to IT in the first place - Fixing "stuff". Because of the lag between my previous technical roles, when I was stuck doing a lot of the general grunt work - PC builds for everyone. It wasn't long before my capabilities were realised, and I was given more interesting work, including helping to rebuild a client's infrastructure after a major incident (they became a client after we rebuild their infrastructure). Following Cogent's acquisition of Lantech, I decided to seek different pastures, and headed across the ditch to Adelaide, after finding work remotely with Kodo Technologies in the Barossa Valley
