I found out silly things like ‘don’t have men looking direct at the camera (but women ok)’, ‘what the best proceed to checkout text is’ & ‘what checkouts work best for first time customers’ – (100s of split tests - I should write a book!)Third, I found that all ecommerce sites have a segment of visitors that ‘almost buy’ but don’t. Those annoying people that abandon without buying? Well these are the best place to gain sales if you are in a hurry.People have grown ecommerce businesses bigger than yours. Most of my success was asking someone bigger how they did it.
