Summer research intern with the LGBT Research and Communication Project.Duties and accomplishments included:- Authored articles on health policy and data collection with respect to the LGBT community and underrepresented minority groups to ThinkProgress.org.- Co-authored a public brief on the federal policy response by the Department of Justice to bullying in high schools.- Conducted phone interviews with policy and research experts, wrote an academic literature review, and contributed to organization reports and advocacy materials during the federal comment period on new regulations regarding the Prison Rape Elimination Act (PREA).- Collaborated with colleagues to advocate for the inclusion of sexual orientation and gender identity questions in federal surveys, such as the National Health Interview Survey.
